Le Projet Etania à vue le jour le Jeudi 22 Janvier 2009.
Un après-midi, alors que je bossai sur des dossiers un peu rébarbatifs, j'ai eu une soudaine envie de création.
Ma première idée fut tout d'abord de réaliser un dessin Animé.
Mais en en parlant avec plusieurs personnes qui s'étaient greffées au projet, l'idée était difficilement réalisable.
En effet, un film d'animation demande énormément de temps, et le temps nous ai tous compté désormais ( cause: boulot et vie sociale).
Bref, un membre de l'équipe m'a conseillé de réalisé un " Roman Interactif illustré", idée que j'ai de suite trouvé formidable.
Le concept était né.
Je me suis donc lancé dans l'écriture, et commencé quelques croquis.
Voilà; un bref résumé de l'histoire du projet.

Mais le projet quel est-il?
La réalisation d'un Roman interactif, basé sur une technologie Flash de Flip-book.
Une page (à gauche) avec le texte comme dans un roman, et en face (à droite) des illustrations et animations qui s'enchaînent au fil de l'histoire.
Le tout réunis dans un livre dont les pages pourront être tournées au bon vouloir de l'internaute.
De la musique est prévue en accompagnement de l'histoire, ainsi que des sons et des doublages voix.

Par la suite, une fois le projet bien avancé, il y aura la création d'un site, afin de montrer, de valoriser et de concrétiser le projet.
Le site sera également un moyen plus puissant de faire parler du projet et de recruter de nouveaux illustrateurs.

Ce projet, évoluera très lentement, et chaque personnes s'y intéressant, peu participer à son rythme, rien n'est imposé, tant dans le temps passé que dans le style de graphisme à utiliser pour les illustrateurs.

La liberté d'action est le maître mot du projet.

"The Etania project was born on a Thursday, January 22, 2009.
One afternoon, while I was working on some somewhat tedious projects, I suddenly had the urge to create.
My first idea, to start with, was to create an animated feature. Ma première idée fut tout d'abord de réaliser un dessin Animé.
However, in speaking with a number of people who had joined on, it was decided that directing an animated film was going to be very difficult to accomplish.
Basically, a film demands an enormous amount of time, time which all of us didn’t necessarily have. (reason: work and social life)
In Short, a member of our team advised me to pursue an “Illustrated interactive novel”, which I found to be an excellent idea.
The concept was born.
I thus launched my self on the writing, and started a few sketches.
There; the history of the project, in short.

Q: But what is the project?

A: The Creation of an illustrated interactive novel, based in Flash’s “Flip-Book” application:
One page (on the left) with text, as in a novel, with illustrations and animations relating to storyline on the opposite (the right).
All of which come together in a book, whose pages may be turned at the will of the Browser.
To accompany the story, some music, sounds, and voice-overs are also being planned.
Next, once the project has progressed further along, a website will be created to finally commemorate, show and solidify the project.
The website will also serve as a means to better promote the project and recruit new illustrators.

This project will evolve slowly, and anyone interested may participate at their own pace. We don't put restrictions on anything, neither on the time spent nor on the graphic style to be used by illustrators.

Flexibility is the key word here.
